The plot of season 6 of Virgin River is starting to worry fans of the Netflix series more and more. They have clearly expressed their fears, even though the episodes have not yet been released.

To keep fans of the series waiting, Netflix has unveiled a new synopsis to reveal a little more about the adventures of Jack and Mel. Through these few lines, the platform’s subscribers learned that this sixth part of Virgin River would be marked by new twists, a few love triangles, a drama around a wedding, but also secrets about Mel’s father’s past. As a reminder, the latter found her biological father during the Christmas special episode broadcast during the fifth season.
A sequel too “cheesy” for Virgin River fans
This new plot has greatly worried Virgin River fans, who fear that the series will become too “cheesy” with many flashbacks showing the history between Mel’s parents. Among the comments published on the Reddit forum, we could read: “It really sucks that in the end, Mel’s mother and father met in Virgin River, the same town as her”, “I love the show. It’s a comforting show for me, and I will continue to watch it, but this plot is not one of my favorites”, “I was very disappointed that they made this decision to launch this twist. It’s really cheesy”, or “I don’t really like the story of the biological father, it’s so out of place and unnecessary.”
Who will play Mel’s parents in Virgin River? Just a few days ago, the American website Deadline announced that actors Jessica Rothe and Callum Kerr had been chosen to play Sarah and Everett, Mel’s parents. The mother of the heroine of the series is a free and spiritual woman who does not want to look like all the women of the 1970s. As for Mel’s father, he is a singer-songwriter with the soul of a poet who dreams of performing on stage. Their meeting was love at first sight. The flashbacks to their love story should serve to introduce the spin-off of Virgin River which will be dedicated to them.
