Golden Bachelorette’s Chock has shared a heartbreaking tribute to his mom, who died while he was filming Episode 4 of the reality TV series.
Fans of Golden Bachelorette were shocked when one of leading lady Joan Vassos’ suitors Chock Chapple revealed he had to suddenly leave.
During Episode 4, Joan gave Chock a group date rose as their bond had become very strong, but the following day, Chock received news that his mother had passed and decided to exit to take care of his family.
For awhile it seemed he wouldn’t return, but to his and Joan’s relief, he was able to, arriving just before the episode’s Rose Ceremony.
Now, Chock has shared a heartbreaking tribute to his mother on his Instagram.
Alongside two throwback snaps, Chock posted a more recent picture of him with his mother and wrote: “Miss you every day, the best mother I could ever ask for.”
Chock shared in his introduction package that his mother Jill Cobb was suffering from stage 4 cancer.
Asking his mom if he should go on the show, she was adamant that she wanted him to do it.
The suitor told the news to his fellow contestants first, saying: “I just want you to know I’m gonna leave,” but broke down while explaining that he felt so happy the night before getting Joan’s group date rose.
When he went to tell Joan, she responded: “You’re a caregiver, you won’t feel good unless you’re giving care.”
Chock responded: “I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know. And your smile and your caring and just touching me just makes me feel so good.”
Joan told cameras that Chock came for her and himself, but now he has to leave for his family.
She understood that better than anyone, having self-eliminated during Gerry Turner’s season of Golden Bachelor to be with her daughter after she gave birth.
Fans were left devestated to see the suitor go, as they stormed social media with their reactions as they say he could’ve been “endgame.”
Others took to X, formerly Twitter, to claim that the exit felt like Joan’s exit and that history was repeating itself.
One person said: “The parallels between Joan leaving Gerry and Chock leaving Joan are crazy.”
Another added: “History always repeating itself.”
A third penned: “It sounds like Joan has already decided to pick Chock.”
Watching Chock leave, one fan wrote to X: “CHOCK. I am so sad for him. I thought he was endgame but family always comes first.”
“I really think chock could have been the one too..they were such a great match but family first is always the #1 priority,” another fan declared.
A third chimed in, writing: “If anyone should be allowed back later this season it should be Chock.”
Joan was very happy to have Chock return.
Earlier in the episode, when the men came out to strut their stuff at a tease strip show, some fans heard Joan whisper to Kaitlyn Bristowe: “That’s Chock.”
Now, they’re convinced that Chock is the winner as she specifically mentioned him to Bristowe.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one person wrote: “Anyone else notice Joan say ‘that’s Chock’ to Kaitlyn??? he’s a frontrunner for sureee.”
Another added: “Tbh… I’m feeling like Chock wins this thing,” as a third said: “I’m starting to think Chock is her man.”
A fourth wrote: “Chock kinda has rizz if he wants to,” as a fifth penned: “Why chock kinda…”
