Montana Jordan, best known for his role as Georgie Cooper on “Young Sheldon,” is embracing the joys of fatherhood. The 21-year-old actor recently welcomed his first child, daughter Emma Rae Jordan, with his girlfriend Jenna Weeks in May, and he couldn’t be happier.
“It’s been amazing for me, man. There’s truly nothing better,” Jordan shared with PEOPLE at CBS’s Sit-Down Comedy Event in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Sept. 18. “She’s 4 months old now, and I’ve always loved kids—I’ve got two little nieces, one who’s five and the other two. But with my nieces, I could always give them back,” he joked. “I can’t give mine back—I’m stuck with her. But seriously, being a dad is the best thing in the world.”
When asked about what he’s learned since becoming a father, Jordan didn’t hesitate: “To be patient. Definitely, patience.”
Jordan first announced the birth of Emma Rae in an Instagram post on May 21, where he shared a photo of himself cradling his newborn daughter, swaddled in a pink and white blanket. “5/21/2024 God has blessed me with a beautiful baby girl. Emma Rae Jordan, Momma and Daddy love you. Forever and always,” he captioned the heartfelt post.
Since then, the actor has frequently shared updates of his baby girl on social media, including adorable moments from the set of his upcoming “Young Sheldon” spinoff, Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage.
“Emma Rae on the set of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. #gmfm,” he captioned an Instagram shot of him holding Emma Rae next to a clapboard.
As for what fans can expect from the spinoff, Jordan revealed to PEOPLE, “If you know Georgie and Mandy from Young Sheldon, you’ll have an idea of what’s coming. The new show will follow their journey through marriage, parenting, and the ups and downs of life, just like Young Sheldon. We’re aiming to make it just as relatable.”
Jordan also spoke highly of his costar Emily Osment, who plays Mandy McAllister, saying, “We’ve had great chemistry from the start. She’s a fantastic person and very professional. Working with her has always been a blast.”
The upcoming series will focus on Georgie and Mandy raising their newborn baby in Texas, all while navigating the complexities of adulthood, parenthood, and marriage.
