At the end of the latest Chicago Fire Season 13 episode, Lieutenant Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) told his half-brother, Damon (Michael Bradway), who was in the truck under Lieutenant Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), that after he lied to protect him, they couldn’t work at the same fire station and one of them had to go. Now, the promo for the October 9 episode, “All Kinds of Crazy,” teases at least one big twist coming in episode 51. In the video, at the scene of the fire, Fire Chief Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney) orders mitigation, but is it too late? A firefighter is blown out of a window and the situation isn’t looking good! Watch the promo to find out who’s in trouble.
Additionally, Pascal tells someone, “You broke my trust” and “I’m going to fire you from this fire station,” which could be connected or from two different scenes. It’s unclear who he’s talking to, but the promo shows Kidd, Damon, and Severide later.
According to the episode description, Severide is investigating arson again, investigating a fire at a family-owned restaurant with OFI (Office of Fire Investigation) Captain Tom Van Meter (Tim Hopper). Additionally, Pascal questions Kidd’s leadership abilities. Pascal and Kidd have been at odds ever since he took over Wallace Boden’s (Eamonn Walker) office. In the premiere, she admits to Severide that she misses Boden at 51; he wasn’t just her boss, he walked her down the aisle. But even so, there’s something about Pascal that worries her, and Severide agrees that there’s something off about him. Kidd continues to have issues with Pascal’s handling of things in the second episode, with the chief wanting to continue sitting down with the lieutenants after calls to look into why they made the decisions they did.
And during one of his sit-downs with Severide, Pascal brings up the fact that the lieutenant and Kidd’s wife worked the same shift in the same house, which is technically against policy. He can see them finding a way around it, given how long they’ve worked together, but he wants Severide to know he’ll be keeping an eye on him. Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) then asks if his lieutenant mentioned his family ties to Damon; Severide doesn’t. Could that be the case in Season 13 Episode 3, and that’s why Pascal fires someone from the fire department?
