Among the many shows ending or being canceled in 2024 is SEAL Team, and filming recently wrapped on the military drama. Lead actor David Boreanaz posted a grateful message to announce the news, and it seems like he’s ready to accept the show’s end. While a premiere date hasn’t been announced, the entire cast and crew appear to have said their goodbyes and moved on. In that regard, Boreanaz is already looking ahead to a future that may or may not involve him following in Taylor Sheridan’s footsteps.
The veteran actor has been working consistently in Hollywood for over two decades now. He’s played a vampire in Buffy and Angel, played an FBI agent in Bones, and is currently playing the leader of a Navy SEAL team. And there have been plenty of other roles lined up for him in that time. While it was thought that he wanted to take a break after SEAL Team, that was not the case at all. He admitted to Variety that he had been talking to the show’s current platform, Paramount+, about the future: Yeah, Paramount+ is a great group of people, and we’ve had discussions from a director’s perspective, from a producer’s perspective, from a showrunner’s perspective. So some really good stuff is on the horizon.
Since SEAL Team moved to Paramount+ from CBS, the series has done very well. At one point, a standalone film adaptation of the show was even in development, though it was later canceled. It seems like David Boreanaz has a lot of ideas in mind and even wants to have a whole universe of shows like Paramount’s Taylor Sheridan, who has a variety of movies and shows under his belt: Sponsored Link Office 2024: Upgrade Now [Download] ps.sbs Obviously I’m going to work with Taylor Sheridan, of course. In addition to acting, this multi-talented person has directed episodes of SEAL Team, Bones, The Finder, and Angel. He also served as a co-producer on Bones and an executive producer on SEAL Team. So it’s not like he’s going into uncharted territory professionally. Actors are increasingly branching out and working more behind the camera. In David Boreanaz’s case, it’s interesting to know that he’s very interested in bringing other projects to life. Given his popularity, the top streaming services might even have to compete for his upcoming properties if Paramount+ doesn’t buy them all. He also said: I’m really good at writing dialogue. I’m really good at that. I’m getting better at structure. You know, it’s a work in progress for me. But I like to break down characters. I like, you know, figure out the story and all that stuff. So creative, yeah. I’m really good at creating.
While nothing has been confirmed for the star’s next project after SEAL Team, he certainly seems to be taking a proactive approach. As a fan, I’m interested to hear about what he’s been up to. It may be too early to say if he’ll create a Yellowstone-like universe, although I could definitely see the actor/director producing a series like that and becoming a Taylor Sheridan-like character.
In the meantime, Paramount+ subscribers should stay tuned for news about SEAL Team’s seventh and final season and keep checking the 2024 TV schedule. Fans will soon have to say goodbye to Jason Hayes and Bravo, but the news that David Boreanaz has plans for the future will be a comfort to die-hard viewers.
