Now that we’ve had some time to process everything that happened in Will Trent’s Season 2 finale, we have some serious questions about what happens next.
The show has already been renewed for Season 3, so fans can rest assured that the story will somehow continue after the main character’s huge and devastating decision. In fact, the series is expected to return mid-season as part of ABC’s fall 2024 schedule, so fans won’t have to wait too long.
As for whether all of our burning questions will be answered in the 18-episode third season, that remains to be seen. However, here are our burning questions about what happens when Will Trent returns for Season 3. What happens to Angie?
As we saw in the Season 2 finale, Will Trent (Ramón Rodríguez) had a painful decision to make after discovering the truth about Angie’s (Erika Christensen) encounter with Lenny: He could stick to his moral principles and arrest her for lying to cover up Crystal’s murder of her abuser, or pretend he didn’t know the truth and potentially move on with his life of happiness with his longtime lover. For better or worse, he chose the former, and now we have to wonder what that means for Angie.
Will she go to jail? Will the District Attorney’s Office decide not to prosecute considering the real culprit is dead? And if so, what will her punishment be?
For her part, Erika Christensen herself told TV Insider, “I hope we find ourselves in a completely new world. But the writers are so good at taking everything we’ve established so far and staying true to these characters in this world. I’m also trying to see how they’re going to evolve after this finale.”
