‘Chicago Fire’ Promo Teases Stellaride Tension and Problems in Episode 51 Oh, who or what is coming between Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) in the October 2 episode of Chicago Fire?
NBC aired a promo for Episode 2 of Season 13, “Ride the Blade,” following the premiere, and it offers a look at what appears to be the two in the middle of an argument. “You lied to me!” she says, exasperated, and it appears she’s talking to Severide. The synopsis offers a possible cause: “After Damon [Michael Bradway] disobeys Kidd’s orders during a phone call, he turns to Severide to defend him. Herrmann [David Eigenberg] searches for the perfect scent to spice things up with Cindy [Robyn Coffin].”
Kidd asked Severide to let her talk to his half-brother first after the calls after she saw her husband do it back in episode 51 of the premiere. And showrunner Andrea Newman told TV Insider as part of our Fall Preview, “It’s a very complicated triangle with Kidd, whose relationship with her husband is being affected by Damon.” But what exactly is Severide lying to her about?
What we do know is that at least Severide and Kidd are on the same page when it comes to the new sheriff, Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney). While Kidd is more wary of him at the beginning of the premiere, by the end, they both agree that there’s something “off” about him. And that feeling continues in this promo, which begins with him using a sandbag in the fire station and shows Cruz (Joe Minoso) saying, “Things aren’t right in the house.” (He could also be talking about Severide and Kidd, since he sees his lieutenant stopping when Damon collapses during a call.) There’s also more tension between Kidd and Pascal, after she delayed sitting down with him to discuss the call in the premiere and he followed her.
