‘Tracker’ Fans, We Finally Know When Jensen Ackles Will Return
One of the most handsome faces to ever grace our television screens is returning, and we’re excited to have more information about when viewers can expect to see Jensen Ackles in Season 2 of Tracker. We’ve known for months that the Supernatural alum would be returning to his role as Russell Shaw, the previously estranged brother of Justin Hartley’s Colter Shaw (This Is Us), but now we know how many episodes we’ll have to wait before Russell makes his explosive return. During a Q&A with TVLine, a fan asked when Russell would return to the fold. Thankfully, the wait is almost over, as TVLine revealed, “Ackles is expected to make his second appearance on Tracker in the second episode of Season 2.” With the season 2 premiere set for October 13, this puts Ackles in line to return for the main season on October 20. When viewers were first introduced to Ackles’ Russell in the first season, it was clear that there was no romance between him and Colter. The pair had been estranged for years and showed no signs of wanting to change that, but after spending time together in the penultimate episode of the first season, their relationship seemed to have changed. Teasing the brothers’ next encounter, showrunner Elwood Reid said that their paths would cross while investigating a bizarre UFO case. This time, the pair will delve deeper into their fragile family dynamic, with Reid sharing, “There’s a secret that’s revealed about their father that both brothers know. There’s a memory that you’ll find that Colter doesn’t have but his brother does about Colter and their father. Now that the brothers have a better relationship, they can actually compare notes and make some progress.”
If you happen to know Ackles from watching CBS’s latest hit series, we want to welcome you to the fan club. The actor has been around for decades, so we’re surprised you’re new here, and we’re here to tell you that there’s a lot of catching up to do. Ackles has been working for nearly three decades, taking on career-launching roles on small-screen titles like the iconic NBC series Days of Our Lives and starring opposite Jessica Alba in Dark Angel.
Ackles is most synonymous with his Supernatural character, Dean Winchester, a role he has played for an impressive 15 seasons on the show and in a spin-off called The Winchesters. More recently, the actor reunited with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke for the third season of Kripke’s hit Prime Video series, The Boys. Appearing in the series as the morally corrupt hero known as Soldier Boy, Ackles has been announced to star in a spin-off called Vought Rising, with more details to be announced.
