10 Most Exciting Things To Expect From Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2

There are a lot of exciting things to expect from Yellowstone season 5, part 2.

Who Ends Up With Yellowstone Ranch (Or The Land)

Kayce and Monica’s son, Tate, is both a Dutton and a member of the Indigenous peoples who once lived on the land pre-ranch. That said, Tate might provide resolution to 1883’s prophecy as the heir apparent (in more ways than one). On the other hand, John Dutton’s ongoing feud with the leaders of Broken Rock Reservation — namely casino mogul and elected high chief Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) — has to come to a head in Yellowstone’s final outing. Again, that might be made all-the-more complicated by Costner’s absence, though it could still culminate in a classic, Western-style shootout that results in John’s (off-screen) death.

4
Jamie Dutton’s Ultimate Fate

Jamie seems hell-bent on bringing down his family. Not only is he primed to kill Beth — albeit indirectly — but he also seems ready to ruin his father’s reputation and, with it, the Dutton family legacy. If Costner were returning for Yellowstone’s final outing, then Jamie might have a shot at redemption (or, at the very least, forgiveness). Since that isn’t happening, it seems he’ll be the key antagonist moving forward. Jamie’s death would be a satisfying ending, but sometimes the characters viewers love to hate stick around.

What Happens To Rip & Beth

With Costner’s John Dutton out of the mix, what happens to Beth and Rip is Yellowstone’s key story. The major conflict that underpins Beth and Jamie’s feud is what Jamie did to his sister: in arranging her abortion, Jamie had Beth sterilized without her consent or knowledge. It’s an incredibly messed up situation — one that’s fueled Beth’s hatred for her brother for years. Understandably, she hasn’t told Rip yet either, and it seems like that secret will have to come to light in season 5. If it does, Rip might have a direct hand in Jamie’s death. Regardless, it’ll be interesting to see how the couple weathers the finale.

All The Major Yellowstone Season 5 Character Deaths

Speculation about who will die in Yellowstone season 5, part 2 has been swirling since the first installment ended. The first batch of episodes leaves the stable door wide open for an all-out bloodbath. After all, all good Westerns end in shootouts, and Yellowstone shouldn’t be an exception to that rule. With the Dutton family’s legacy (and the ranch’s future) at stake yet again, it seems like almost anything is possible. Right now, John Dutton’s death seems incredibly likely, though Jamie and/or Beth aren’t far behind.

How Yellowstone Season 5 Sets Up Future Spinoffs

There are several stories Yellowstone still needs to resolve in its final outing. That said, fans of Taylor Sheridan’s neo-Western probably don’t want all the loose ends tied up neatly. Already, Yellowstone has spawned several spinoffs, including prequel shows 1883 and 1923. As of now, two additional series have been ordered: the prequel show, 1944, and a sequel that’s been tentatively dubbed 2024 (via People). Clearly, one or more Yellowstone characters will have to carry the torch in the planned sequel series, but the “who” remains a glaring mystery for now.
