Blue Bloods season 14: Will Marisa Ramirez return as Maria Baez?

Maria Baez has quietly become one of the most relatable characters in Blue Bloods. She first appeared in season 3, but over time, her dynamic with Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) has proven to be a big part of what makes the show so engaging.

Both characters experience loss over the years, but their ability to lean on each other for support is a constant source of strength. This is evident in the season 13 finale, when Danny tells Maria that he is exactly where he wants to be in their partnership. Will Maria be present in season 14?

Will Baez return to Blue Bloods season 14?

Luckily, the answer is yes. Maria, played by Marisa Ramirez, is one of the characters who will return whenever Blue Bloods returns for season 14. As for whether there will be romance or not is another matter.

In an interview with TV Insider, Ramirez talked about the possibility of things heating up between her character and Danny, and why she wanted things between them to stay unspoken. She points out that Blue Bloods had an example of cops falling in love while on the job.

“It was really difficult,” she noted. “They’re great as working partners and, as you know from Jamie (Will Estes) and Eddie’s (Vanessa Ray) storyline, once they get into personal trouble, things get very difficult .”

The actress went on to say that she didn’t want to sacrifice the special, sometimes unspoken relationship between Maria and Danny. “[They] might not even be allowed to be partners anymore. And I think that’s where they’re happiest, spending their days working together,” she added. “I know fans want that romance, but I think it’s more fun to tease whether we can get there or not.”

We can’t wait to see where things go in season 14.
