After Paramount+ Announces SEAL Team Is Ending, David Boreanaz and Justin Melnick React
While TV audiences were excited about the SAG-AFTRA strike finally ending in the midst of TV’s fall 2023 ghost town, the fallout has led to a number of major cancellations across both streaming and linear. One of the latest shows to face a dreaded cancellation: CBS’s action drama SEAL Team, which is being adapted for Paramount+. Fortunately, the military-focused drama wasn’t completely written off, with studio executives handing Spencer Hudnut and his team one final season to wrap up the Bravo Team saga. And you can bet stars David Boreanaz and Justin Melnick had messages to share with fans when the news broke.

David Boreanaz’s reaction to the end of SEAL Team As the lead on most of the intense storylines and situations that have emerged over the years on SEAL Team, David Boreanaz has managed to develop yet another character that will live on in the hearts and minds of television viewers for years to come. (Jason Hayes has now joined Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Angel and Bones’ Seeley Booth in the actor pantheon.) And as expected, he approached his initial reaction to the show’s impending future with the same calm and respect that his captain would have. Here’s his initial reaction, posted on Instagram: For 6 seasons, I’ve been blessed, fortunate, and humbled to play a character as dynamic and complex as Jason Hayes on SEAL TEAM. Everyone involved with the show has made a huge difference in the lives of so many men and women in the military community. The daily grind and complex mental approach to such a character has allowed me to fully understand and appreciate the sacrifices these men and women make. While the show has found its footing, the fans have always supported us, and I am forever grateful. As we begin Season 7, we have decided that this will be the series’ last season. I look forward to moving on to the next chapter.

In any case, considering how difficult it is to keep an expensive scripted show on air in this day and age, it’s a miracle that SEAL Team has survived the move from broadcast to streaming. There’s never a guarantee that audiences will follow a series and its stars from one platform to another, but fans certainly helped convince Paramount+’s Powers That Be to continue for three more seasons. To that end, Boreanaz expressed his gratitude even further when he went on to say: Sponsored Links Lang Thương Unsold Recalled Cars That Are Almost Unsold (Check It Out) Car Deals | Search Ads I want to thank CBS Studios/Networks, Paramount Plus, and everyone who made this show a success. We are so excited to be back for Season 7 and look forward to telling many more stories. To my beloved SEAL TEAM family, a sambuca three-pea “con mule mosca” for all your extraordinary efforts, without which this series would not be possible. Please accept my eternal gratitude, respect, and love. Good luck.

Luckily, no one needs to worry about where David Boreanaz goes next, as there is still a full final season of ten episodes to film and air for viewers. Though I guess part of that anticipation may now be mixed with fear at the idea of Jason and/or others facing the same fate as Max Thieriot’s Clay Spenser in Season 6.
