That’s a wrap on The Good Doctor.
After seven seasons, the ABC medical drama finished filming its series finale Friday — and emotions are running high. As the stars of the long-running procedural say goodbye, several cast members are sharing behind-the-scenes photos from their last hours on set.
“On the eve of our final day of filming, flooded with so many memories,” series star Christina Chang (aka Dr. Audrey Lim) wrote on Instagram Thursday, along with a photo from her first day on set in Season 1. “Thankful for The Good Cast + The Good Crew + The Good Fans 💙 7 years x 126 episodes, let’s finish strong 💪🏽💙.”
ABC announced in January that The Good Doctor would end after an abbreviated, 10-episode Season 7. Two months later, it was confirmed that former series regular Antonia Thomas would reprise her fan-favorite role as Dr. Claire Browne in not one, but two Season 7 episodes, including the series finale (airdate TBA).
“The Good Doctor has been a once in a lifetime opportunity, but it’s time to say goodbye,” executive producers David Shore, Liz Friedman and Erin Gunn said in a previous statement. “We are incredibly proud of the work we’ve done and the message we’ve been privileged to be a part of. We look forward to giving our fantastic fans, the truly extraordinary Freddie Highmore, the rest of our talented actors (and friends), and the best crew in the business the series ending that you all deserve.
Added star/fellow EP Highmore: “Playing Dr. Shaun Murphy has been an immense privilege and one of the most remarkable and rewarding experiences of my life. I will always be grateful to David, Liz and Erin as well as the hugely talented — and lovely — cast, writers and crew who made this show possible. Caring deeply is what got us here. Thank you to Sony and ABC, and to everyone who has watched along at home.”
Then, channeling his inner Dr. Murphy, he concluded, “With love from Vancouver… tequila, stat!”
