Richard Schiff was on hand to celebrate a show that meant a lot to his career, and he brought someone special with him to mark the momentous occasion.

The Good Doctor star went to the 2024 Emmy Awards on September 15, where he joined Martin Sheen, Allison Janney, Dulé Hill and Janel Maloney as they had an onstage reunion for the 25th anniversary of The West Wing. While the group was there to present the Outstanding Drama Series award to Shōgun, Richard decided he’d make it a date night out with his wife of almost three decades, actress Sheila Kelley.

For the rare public appearance, the couple decided to color coordinate their outfits for the Emmys. Richard wore a tailored black suit with a matching bowtie and eye-popping lavender button-down shirt. For Sheila’s part, she wore a sleeveless black beaded gown that cinched at her waist. She also carried a black leather clutch with all her essentials, and she added her own pop of color with light blue round-lensed glasses. The married duo looked immaculate for a red carpet moment and they appeared excited to celebrate a milestone in Richard’s career.

If that wasn’t enough, Sheila couldn’t help but share a heartfelt tribute to Richard on Instagram after he got onstage with his former The West Wing co-stars.

“What a beautiful night of celebration @therichardschiff,” she captioned a selfie of her and her husband on her Instagram story.

As some fans may remember, Richard and Sheila wed back in 1996. The couple have also welcomed two children throughout the course of their romance — son Gus (born in 1994) and daughter Ruby (born in 2000). What’s more, Richard brought his family into his work on The Good Doctor throughout the show’s seven-season run.

Viewers of the ABC drama may recognize Sheila for portraying Debbie Wexler (Richard’s character Dr. Aaron Glassman’s love interest) for the first four seasons of The Good Doctor. Folks also saw Ruby in the final season as Hannah, a patient who bonds with Dr. Glassman as she reminds him of his deceased daughter.
