‘Chicago Fire’: Chief Dermot Mulroney Joins 51 in Action-Packed Season 13 Premiere
It looks like Chicago Fire will be able to see its new chief, Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney), who hails from Miami, in the midst of chaos in the Season 13 premiere.
NBC has released photos from the September 25 episode, and they offer a look at Dom at age 51 as well as at the scene of the fire with other firefighters and paramedics. We’re particularly interested in the conversation he had in the office with Lieutenant Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg), who Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) said he wanted to take over after he left in the Season 12 finale. Plus, it looks like Violet (Hanako Greensmith) and Carver (Jake Lockett) will have the talk they need about their relationship or keep putting it off.
Pascal will “shake things up,” showrunner Andrea Newman told TV Insider as part of an extended Fall Preview for Season 13. Pascal leads differently than Boden. He’s “mysterious, he wants to peel back the layers of the firefighters to learn more about them as firefighters and as people because knowledge is power to him. He has an eye for people who cross the line.” Check out the “different reactions” from the rest of the house to their new boss, and Newman teased “surprises about who sticks with Pascal and who doesn’t.”
As for the emergencies, the EP said there were “fantastic heroic scenes,” including in the premiere, with an e-cigarette warehouse going up in flames.
