Tracker Season 2 Trailer Returns Two Main Cast Members, Including Jensen Ackles as Colter’s Brother Russell — Watch
It’s been four months since the Justin Hartley drama ended Season 1 — and on Friday, CBS released a trailer for the hit show’s highly anticipated return. In addition to Justin Hartley reprising his role as “America’s #1 New Hero” Colter Shaw, we also get a glimpse of returning guest stars Jensen Ackles (as Colter’s brother Russell) and Sofia Pernas (as Billie Matalon, who’s also on the hunt for a reward).

As TVLine exclusively reported, Robin Weigert, who played supporting character Teddi Bruin in Season 1, will not be returning as a regular cast member in Season 2. Despite her absence, Abby McEnany, who plays Teddi’s wife (and Colter’s manager) Velma, will be back—and the first synopsis reveals what she’ll be up to now that she’s no longer working with her significant other: While investigating the strange disappearance of a missing family whose car is found abandoned on the side of a road in the Arkansas backwoods, Colter makes a shocking discovery about his mother’s past that leads him into the world of organized crime. Additionally, Reenie opens her new law firm and enlists Velma’s help in setting up shop. Tracker, based on Jeffery Deaver’s best-selling novel The Never Game, stars This Is Us veteran Hartley as the aforementioned Colter Shaw, “a lone survivor who roams the country as a bounty hunter, using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all kinds of mysteries,” according to the official logline.

Each week in Season 1, handlers Teddi and Velma helped Colter track down cases; computer expert Bobby (Eric Graise) provided remote tech support; and good friend/personal attorney Reenie (Fiona Rene) flew in to assist whenever Colter had a run-in with the law.

In his free time, Colter dealt with a broken family—and a potential conspiracy involving his late father. Season 1 guest stars Melissa Roxburgh, Wendy Crewson, and Ackles—who appeared as Colter’s sister Dory, his mother Mary, and the aforementioned Russell—are all returning for Season 2. Tracker Season 2 premieres Sunday, October 13, at its new time—8/7c on CBS.
