Look Forward to Ending It’: Yellowstone Star Can’t Wait for Fans to See Final Episodes
Yellowstone star Kelly Reilly teases lots of intrigue for the “wild” remainder of Season 5 of the award-winning Western drama series.
Yellowstone actor Kelly Reilly assures fans they will be taken on a “wild” ride for the second part of the Western drama’s final season as it nears the beginning of filming.
Speaking with Radio Times, Reilly delved into what audiences can expect from Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 and teased when principal photography for the remaining episodes would begin. According to the Beth Dutton actor, she looks forward to beginning shooting the episodes as she’s happy the fans will soon see Yellowstone returning to their screens. “Gosh, I’m really looking forward to them [the fans] having them [the last episodes],” she said. “We can only shoot this show in the summer because when winter comes in Montana from November through till May, it’s snowing – and shooting this show in the snow with horses, it’s just not possible. So we have one window and last year we lost it because of the actors’ strike. So I’m looking forward to them having the show back. I look forward to giving them their show back and look forward to ending it.”
Reilly’s comments about the production process follow statements from co-star Ian Bohen, who revealed Yellowstone should begin filming Season 5 Part 2 in May or June, putting the series on track for a November release window. Reilly insisted the series finale of Yellowstone will be a satisfying conclusion to the acclaimed show. “I’m looking forward to giving them the ending of Yellowstone that was always the ending of Yellowstone back when I signed on in 2018 – so it’s like… it’s gonna be wild,” she said.
The Final Episodes Will Arrive in November 2024
Paramount recently confirmedYellowstone Season 5 Part 2 will premiere this November while revealing two planned spinoff shows, 1944 and 2024, are in development. However, the latter spinoff may not feature Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey as planned, with McConaughey wanting to review a script before he signs a deal. Meanwhile, the legendary Michelle Pfeiffer is in talks to be 2024’s female lead.
Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 reportedly won’t feature Kevin Costner, who played central character John Dutton throughout his Golden Globe-winning run on the series. Costner and Yellowstone have been at odds for some time, with the Academy Award winner considering legal action against the show over salary disputes and having multiple creative disagreements with show creator Taylor Sheridan. It’s unknown how Yellowstone will handle Costner’s exit on-screen during the remainder of Season 5.
Reilly will feature in Season 5 Part 2 alongside Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton), Cole Hauser (Rip Wheeler) and Wes Bentley (Jamie Dutton). Though Sheridan teased more episodes would be added to Season 5 Part 2, the second half of the final season will reportedly feature six episodes, as originally planned.
