Fifty Shades of Grey proves a hit with advertisers
Forthcoming erotic film Fifty Shades of Grey has been making US advertisers hot under the collar in their rush to secure promotional slots ahead of its February release.
According to the New York Post, there is no longer any advertising airtime available for screenings of the much-anticipated film in American cinemas.
Cliff Marks, president of National CineMedia, which sells adverts for cinema chains AMC, Regal and CineMark, told the publication it was sold out for the entirety of February, due to demand created by the movie. He added that this had not happened for years.
Fifty Shades of Grey, starring Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson and Rita Ora, is based on the first book in EL James’ hugely popular trilogy, which has sold over 100 million copies worldwide.
