New ‘One Chicago’ Trailer Shows Fire Chief Dermot Mulroney in Action
One Chicago returns later this month, and there’s a lot to look forward to. From new characters to bigger emotional arcs for existing characters and exciting emergencies, there’s a lot to look forward to. One of the most anticipated characters is Chicago Fire’s new chief, who replaces Boden Wallace. Dermot Mulroney plays the new chief, who not much is known about. A new trailer for the upcoming seasons of One Chicago, courtesy of People, reveals the new chief, more demons for Voight, and different takes on ER.

The trailer reveals Chief Dom Pascal, who is described as very different from Chief Boden. He’s called fun, a quality that comes across in the trailer. “There’s going to be changes in the fire department,” the character says in voiceover. The footage shows him throwing himself into his duties as he inspects the fire department and joins in rescues. However, something about his behavior piques Severide’s investigative instincts. “There’s something about the new chief that’s a little… weird,” he tells Stella. It’s unclear what “weird” means, but there’s a limit to how much fun a man can have. In the video, Voight is still doing much the same thing as he blocks things out and focuses on cases. Chapman has a warning for him, but Voight will always be Voight. “You almost died in that basement,” she tells him. “But I didn’t, I’m still here,” Voight confidently replies. In Chicago Med, change has come. “We need to rethink how this emergency department works,” Dr. Goodwin says in voiceover. The video teases a “new medicine” and delivers on its promise. A new, upbeat character leaves a lasting impression on Dr. Archer. “How old are you?” he asked her. “How old are you?” she replied back. It was clear why Dr. Archer was nervous because she did something unorthodox. In one swift move, she jumped onto the bed, grabbed a patient’s leg, and pulled back a dislocated joint. She must be one of the characters Jessy Schram teased to TV Insider earlier, saying, “There will be some new characters that come in, and of course that will stir up a lot of different characters for different reasons. But there will be some new energy, and it will definitely be different than what we’ve seen in the past.”
