Chicago Fire Chicago Fire’s newest cast member looks great in his new role!
One Chicago fans are excited for Dermot Mulroney’s debut as Chief Dom Pascal, and the first photo of Mulroney—shared by the actor himself in an Instagram roundup on Aug. 28—looks beyond great! The 60-year-old took a quick selfie between takes at the Chicago Cultural Center as a tantalizing glimpse of what fans should expect in Season 13. Mulroney looks pretty good in uniform, don’t you think?
When Season 13 begins, Pascal is set to replace longtime Fire Department 51 Battalion Chief Wallace Boden, who was promoted to Deputy Commissioner of the entire Chicago Fire Department at the end of last season. Luckily, it looks like Boden — played by Eamonn Walker for over a decade — will still be popping up in the One Chicago universe from time to time. Boden’s final words last season are prophetic in retrospect.
“Thanks, but we’ll see each other again,” Boden told the firefighters at the end of Season 12. “There’s no need for a long goodbye.”
Mulroney’s character hails from Miami — with a fun personality, despite his estrangement from his wife. The actor is known for his roles in everything from comedies like Friends and New Girl to gritty dramas like Shameless to recent films like Anyone But You. We’re sure he’ll be a great fit for the Chicago Fire cast!
Chicago Fire Season 13 will premiere this fall Chicago Fire premieres September 25 on NBC and will air in its usual time slot: Wednesdays at 9/8c.
However, one burning question remains: what can fans expect from the new season?
NBC Insider spoke with showrunner Andrew Newman and got some insight into where Season 13 is headed. “It’s a new era in many ways, though the core family is still together and will need each other to navigate the twists and turns ahead,” Newman revealed. “Fans can expect some darker themes, with new challenges, battles, and suspense as things get chaotic at 51!”
Sounds like another unforgettable season is on the horizon.
