Jeffrey Dean Morgan Is Hopeful For His Character’s Return in The Boys‘ Final Season
Jeffrey Dean Morgan represented the dark side of Billy Butcher and by the finale of The Boys season 4, he lets the devil take over and do some nasty things to certain people. In the last minutes of the finale, Butcher and Kessler are seen driving away to an unknown fate as America becomes a Supe-controlled country.
When asked by Variety whether he would return in the final season, Morgan revealed that there can’t be a season 5 without him making an appearance. While there haven’t been official talks about his future, he is hopeful that he will have a pivotal part in the final season, The Supernatural alum also expressed his desire to share screen space with his co-star from the show Jensen Ackles who is expected to return as Soldier Boy in season 5. Morgan said,
I don’t know how you do Season 5 without an appearance, at least. That’s my feeling. I’ve never had any official talks about it, but I think it’d be really hard to carry on without some sort of resolution — and hopefully, that’ll be a whole season! I want to have scenes with everyone that’s part of that show, but I obviously have a long-standing relationship with Jensen, especially. He’s like my brother.
The finale teased an epic showdown that will have many resolutions and consequences for both the Boys and the Supes. It remains to be seen if Butcher changes his mind about Kessler in season 5 and whether fans get to see a Supernatural reunion with Morgan and Ackles in one scene.
