Becoming a pilot and awards: Everything the cast have been up to since Young Sheldon ended

They’ve been a busy bunch!

It’s been three months since Young Sheldon finished, and the cast have been up to a lot since then. From becoming a pilot to winning awards and having babies, they’ve certainly been a busy bunch!

They’ve still been having out with each other a ton since the series ended, either behind the scenes of the new spinoff or at other events. Raegan Revord in particular has been very open about her close relationship with the rest of the cast, although some people think she might be feuding with co-star Iain Armitage…

She admitted to People: “I feel like Montana is kind of annoyed with me at this point because I’m asking to see him so much.”

As for her on-screen parents, she says she texts them a lot, and really “misses” both of them. She added: “I’m truly like the annoying little sister of the family,” she adds. “I’m like, ‘Hey, guys, how you doing? Does anyone want to hang out?’ Normally, I’m calling Montana like five times a day. I’m like, ‘Hey, are you free? How about now? You free now?’ He loves me so much.”

So, let’s have a cheeky look at everything the cast of Young Sheldon have been up to since the show finished.

Iain Armitage

Young Sheldon cast member Iain has been up to a lot since the show finished, and in true Sheldon style he literally got his pilot’s license. I swear there is nothing he cannot do.

Over the summer he participated in an intensive Shakespeare acting programme, where he played the role of Orlando in As You Like It. He’s also been spending a lot of time with friends and family, as well as with Montana’s new daughter.

With his friends, he visited Super Nintendo World and when he spent time with Montana’s baby he even sang her Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty. On Instagram, he wrote: “I finally got to meet my brand new niece! I spent time with Montana and Jenna’s sweet baby and she’s beautiful! I’m not at all biased but she’s the smartest, sweetest, most adorable human and I’m proud to be her Uncle Iain.

“Montana is getting ready to start filming his new show and I couldn’t be happier for him and his beautiful family. Note- I don’t usually sing Soft Kitty to babies but I’m learning that they genuinely seem to like it. Have you soothed your baby with this song?! Congratulations, Montana and Jenna and welcome to the world, Emma Rae Jordan! You are very, very loved.” It’s all too much.

Raegan Revord

Raegan Revord attended the Kids Choice Awards with her fellow cast members, where Young Sheldon won Favourite Family TV Show. Most of the time it looked like Iain Armitage was being serious whilst she and Montana Jordan were goofing around together, w

The Young Sheldon cast member has also been up to a lot since the show ended, as she revealed she’s been writing her own book. It’s called Rules for Fake Girlfriends and will be out next autumn. The book follows a teenager who teams up with a new friend to finish the scavenger hunt her late mother left behind.

She also explained how hard it was switching between acting and writing whilst on set, telling People: “It’s kind of funny because it’s like you’re Missy, and then you’re a writer. And it was a learning curve.”Following the season finale of Young Sheldon, Raegan focused more on her book cub called Read with Raegan, which is aimed at young readers. She started the online club in 2019 and each month she picks a new book and then joins online discussions about the subject material.

She explained: “It kind of is trying to figure out [if the club is] attention-snagging enough that people will be like, ‘Oh I could put down a phone for this.’ I try to find stories that are interesting from the get-go and stories that are diverse because I want people to feel seen and find someone in each story that they can relate to.”

Montana Jordan

Montana Jordan has been busy just, you know, casually having a baby daughter with his girlfriend. The new dad shared a sweet post with his real-life baby girl on his Instagram, saying: “God has blessed me with a beautiful baby girl. Emma Rae Jordan, Momma and Daddy love you. Forever and always.”

People have speculated that the newborn’s middle name is a tribute to Raegan, as the spelling matches her first name. They wrote: “Is the middle name for @raeganrevord! Another commented: “@raeganrevord I heard the middle name was in honour of you, congratulations girl! Hope it’s true!”

Montana has also started filming for his spinoff show, Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage although it sounds like his character might not have the best time.  In an interview with TV Insider about the upcoming Young Sheldon spinoff, he revealed: “There’s a lot of things that come with being a young parent, and Mandy’s mom not being the easiest to deal with.”

Annie Potts

Since leaving the show Annie Potts has undergone surgery on her knee as a result of being hit by a car years ago. She emotionally explained: “I was just thinking that I might ask people to be thinking about me because I have to go to the hospital tomorrow and have surgery to replace one of my knees. It’s already been replaced once. It’s something like my 25th or 26th surgery… I’ve kind of lost count. 50 years ago, some drunk teenagers were drag racing down the wrong side of the road and hit me, and I broke every bone below my waist but one.”

She continued: “I’ve been trying to put myself back together for 50 years… if you ever notice that Meemaw limps, it’s because I limp – because somebody made a bad choice. When you’re out there this summer partying, please don’t drink and drive… it might hurt somebody.”

She’s also been spending lots of time scuba diving because Annie Potts truly is an icon.
