‘Chicago Fire’ Adds Exciting New Faces to Season 13
Chicago Fire will be adding two unfamiliar faces when Season 13 premieres this fall. Deadline reports that KaDee Strickland has been cast as Monica Pascal. She will reprise her role in the upcoming season as the estranged wife of new Chief Dom Pascal. Dermot Mulroney has been cast as the new chief after Eamonn Walker left the series. Dom’s character is described as a veteran firefighter who started out in the Windy City but has since moved away. His relationship with Monica is an integral part of his character and will be explored as he takes on new responsibilities in Chicago.

With Chief Wallace Boden leaving, Christopher Hermann seemed like a natural replacement, but Dom’s arrival could conflict with those plans. David Eigenberg previews how the event could affect his character. “I would say he felt like he had the rug pulled out from under him because I don’t think [Herrmann] saw what the Chief said to him,” he said, speaking about Hermann’s feelings. “In the real fire service, there are firefighters who remain firefighters throughout their entire careers. So when you become a Lieutenant, you’re not called a firefighter. You’re a firefighter, but you’re not called that anymore,” Eigenberg said, previewing the conflict that could arise in the upcoming season.

Strickland is best known for her role as Charlotte King on ABC’s Private Practice for all six seasons. She last appeared in the second season of Cruel Summer, a Freeform series that reunited her with Private Practice co-stars Griffin Gluck and Paul Adelstein. Her other television roles include starring in two seasons of Shut Eye before Hulu canceled the series and two seasons of Secrets and Lies before ABC also canceled it.

Is Boden Returning to ‘Chicago Fire’? Walker left the show in the final episodes of Season 12, but Boden has reportedly returned to show off his new Deputy Sheriff uniform. Nothing is set in stone, but there are talks about how to do it and have Walker guest star. His departure is written in a way that would allow the character to pop in from time to time, but not on a permanent basis.
