Forrie J. Smith (Lloyd Pierce)
Forrie J. Smith was working as an animal wrangler on the set of Taylor Sheridan’s film Hell or High Water when the pair met. Smith says that the part of ranch hand Lloyd Pierce was written specifically for him, which is easy to believe; his performance seems so effortless as the gravelly-voiced, mustachioed cowboy.
Smith had some acting experience before Yellowstone — he played Pony Deal in Tombstone (1993) and Jesse James in the TV Western Legend (1995), as well as a one-episode role on Better Call Saul in 2017.
Smith is married to actress Cheryl Richardson. Their son, Forrest, appeared on Yellowstone as young Lloyd in season 5 episode 1.
