The teenage drama “After” is getting another sequel – and a prequel

One film will provide an insight into Hardin Scott’s early adolescence, while the other will introduce us to a whole new generation of characters.

It’s only been two years since the teen drama “After” premiered, but its universe has already expanded considerably. Last year saw the sequel “After We Collided”, and since last autumn it is known that a third and fourth film, with the titles “After We Fell” and “After Ever Happy”, are also in the works.

Now Deadline announces that the franchise is expanding even further, with another sequel, and a prequel as well. The films are written and directed by actress Castille Landon, who has also directed films number three and four.

The “After” films revolve around the relationship between teenagers Tessa Young (Josephine Langford) and Hardin Scott (Hero Fiennes Tiffin), and are based on a series of novels by author Anna Todd, in turn based on a piece of fan fiction that she wrote for a number of years then published on the website Wattpad.

The two new films still don’t have official titles, but parts of their plot have been revealed. The sequel will focus on a whole new generation of characters, and at the center are Tessa and Hardin’s children Emery and Auden, as well as their cousin Addy, who will try to navigate growing up without following in their parents’ footsteps.

The prequel, on the other hand, will start from Hardin’s perspective, with a plot loosely based on the book “Before”. Here we will get an insight into Hardin’s earlier adolescence, where he meets his first love, a number of years before meeting Tessa.

When the series’ fifth and sixth films will premiere is not yet confirmed, but for now we can expect to see the next chapter, “After We Fell”, later this year.
