Fans of The Big Bang Theory are getting a very different kind of comedy this summer. HBO Max has unveiled first-look photos and confirmed a July 2026 release for Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, the franchise’s newest spin-off series.

Unlike Young Sheldon or Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, this project fully embraces science fiction. Kevin Sussman returns as Stuart, whose latest mistake accidentally unleashes a multiverse disaster connected to a machine designed by Sheldon and Leonard.

Joining Stuart on the bizarre adventure are Denise, Bert, and Barry, played once again by Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, and John Ross Bowie. The first images tease alternate realities, ominous technology, and tense survival moments that feel more like a sci-fi movie than a traditional sitcom.

Although Johnny Galecki and Jim Parsons are referenced in the story, HBO Max has not confirmed whether either star will physically appear. Still, the possibility alone has longtime fans eager to see how this ambitious spin-off unfolds.
