The future of Virgin River is officially in motion—but patience will be required. Although fans won’t see new episodes in 2026, Season 8 is already filming, according to star Tim Matheson.
Sharing an update from set, Matheson confirmed production began in April, offering fans a glimpse behind the scenes and promising more heartfelt storytelling ahead. The announcement comes just weeks after Season 7 premiered, leaving viewers with multiple unresolved plotlines.
Among them: Mel and Jack’s hopes of expanding their family, Brie’s evolving romance with Brady, and the ongoing strain between Hope and Doc. These storylines are expected to carry into the next chapter.
Still, Season 8 will bring change. Marco Grazzini and Lauren Hammersley have both exited the series, meaning familiar dynamics may shift.
While the wait continues, one thing is clear—Virgin River isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
