Chaos, comedy, and cosmic consequences collide in HBO Max’s upcoming Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. Revealed at CCXP Mexico City, the highly anticipated spinoff puts longtime side character Stuart Bloom front and center in a story that’s anything but small-scale.
Portrayed once again by Kevin Sussman, Stuart finds himself responsible for a multiverse catastrophe after accidentally breaking an experimental device built by Sheldon and Leonard. The mission? Restore reality—despite having zero qualifications to do so. “The fun is watching him fail every week,” co-star Brian Posehn shared during the panel.
Joining Stuart are Denise (Lauren Lapkus), Bert (Posehn), and Barry Kripke (John Ross Bowie), forming an unlikely team navigating alternate realities and familiar faces in unfamiliar forms. The show also dives deeper into Stuart’s personal life, particularly his evolving relationship with Denise.
With Danny Elfman composing the theme and a July release on the horizon, this spinoff aims to take Big Bang Theory fans somewhere entirely new—while keeping the humor intact.
