BREAKING NEWS – The 5 Most Quotable Twilight Saga Lines

Stephenie Meyer’s notorious series, The Twilight Saga, first succeeded through its book pages but became immortalized in popular culture through the film adaptations of the supernatural teen romance. Twihards have proven to be overcome with nostalgia more than a decade later, leading to an unexpected Twilight Renaissance that has culminated with a reboot series announcement.

Beyond its reminiscent value, most of Twilight’s continued charm comes from the series’ memorable quotes. The Twilight Saga has many quotable lines to be enjoyed, whether it be the genuinely touching and introspective lines about love or loss or hilariously cringe-worthy dialogues that have become memes.

Updated on May 20, 2024 by Fawzia Khan: Twilight swept audiences off their feet when it was released in 2008 and has also become a cult phenomenon in recent years. From iconic characters like Edward and Bella to memorable dialogues, everything about the vampire series has become legendary. This list has been updated with even more of the best Twilight quotes.

“Aren’t People From Arizona Supposed to Be Like, Really Tan?”

While many might think Twilight is a cringy teen movie, it has some of the best humor. The humans don’t get much attention in the movie, but Jessica Stanley is always unintentionally funny. Her reaction to seeing Bella for the first time in school is a prime example of her naturally funny side.

Bella was from Arizona but was pale and fragile-looking. Jessica blurted out the first thing that came to her mind: people from sunny places like Arizona were almost always very tanned. Her lack of restraint was typically teen-like, which made this quote one of the funniest in the franchise.

“…Nice Not To Want to Kill You All The Time.”
“I vote yes. It would be nice not to want to kill you all the time.”

Jasper was the newest vegetarian in the Cullen clan, so he didn’t receive Bella’s presence in the Cullen family with as much enthusiasm as Alice and the others. When the time came for them to vote on whether Bella would be turned into a vampire, Jasper had the most practical reason for voting in the affirmative — he didn’t want to keep thirsting over Bella’s blood all the time.

Jasper’s presence was usually calming, but underneath all the restraint and angst, he had a pretty great personality. He wanted Bella to be a part of the family as naturally as possible so that he could be a great friend and brother to her, too. This was a significant reason for saying yes to something as big as a transformation.

“Jake, You Really Do Stink.”
“I can see what everyone’s been talking about. Jake, you really do stink.”

For the longest time, Edward and Alice spoke of the stench that emanated from werewolves which only they could smell as vampires. When Bella herself turned into one in The Twilight Saga’s short timeline, she understood what they meant by it: her heightened senses and natural enmity with the supernatural species brought a natural aversion to Jacob.

It was a running gag that made it through every single franchise installment. While Bella wouldn’t ever consider Jacob an enemy, seeing her refer to the natural chemistry that turned vampires against werewolves was humorous.

“Bella, I Hope You’ve Gotten Enough Sleep…”
“Bella, I hope you’ve gotten enough sleep these last 18 years. Because you won’t be getting anymore for a while!”

Emmett Cullen was a warm, funny character who shared a sweet dynamic with Bella, but this got limited representation in the movies. He amused and simultaneously made audiences cringe when he spoke of Bella not getting sleep for a while on her wedding day.

For the humans, this would be construed as a statement about Bella and Edward’s wedding night, but it was much more layered than that. Emmett’s innuendo had a deeper meaning—Bella would be transformed into a vampire after her wedding, and vampires never slept. This inside joke was quite iconic for everything it stood for in The Twilight Saga.

“We’re The Same Temperature Now.”
“We’re The Same Temperature Now.”

Twilight was, first and foremost, a romance, and Edward and Bella’s innate difference was that they were vampires and humans, respectively. Edward’s stone-cold skin was a big contrast to Bella’s warm temperature, but they were both cold when she turned. This meant that to each other, Bella and Edward now felt warm.

Because of their circumstances, they both suffered from plenty of anguish and heartache. It was heartwarming to see that something vital to their relationship was finally resolved for good when they were both vampires. It was as though Bella was destined to be a vampire rather than a human, as everything in life fell into place for her when she turned.
