Production on Virgin River Season 8 has officially started, thanks to a confirmation from Doc actor Tim Matheson—but the upcoming chapter won’t look exactly the same.
Matheson shared the update with fans online, posting behind-the-scenes moments from Season 7 and celebrating the return to set alongside co-stars Annette O’Toole, Alexandra Breckenridge, and Martin Henderson.
While excitement is high, viewers also learned that two original cast members—Marco Grazzini and Lauren Hammersley—have stepped away from the series after their characters’ arcs wrapped in Season 7.
Even with those changes, anticipation remains strong following the finale’s unanswered questions. Brady’s fate after the accident and Mel and Jack’s new life as parents remain major storylines heading into Season 8.
Although filming is underway now, fans may need patience. The next season is expected to arrive sometime in early to mid-2027.
