‘Days of Our Lives’ cast and more stars mourn Patrick Muldoon’s death pd01

Hollywood is in mourning after Patrick Muldoon‘s sudden death at age 57.

“[Patrick was] endlessly generous – with his poetry, his humor and his unmistakable presence,” Muldoon’s manager said in a statement shared with Deadline on Monday, April 20. “[Patrick] loved animals and people alike, gave unforgettable hugs and possessed a rare quality of making others feel safe and seen.”

The statement continued: “Stylish, charismatic, and full of life, he embraced each day with a full-tilt, rock ‘n’ roll spirit.”

Muldoon’s manager confirmed he died on Sunday, April 19, following a heart attack. Muldoon’s sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, later told TMZ that the Days of Our Lives actor was taking a shower when his girlfriend, Miriam Rothbart, found him unconscious on the bathroom floor. Paramedics were unable to revive Muldoon at the scene.

Tributes started pouring in shortly after news broke of Muldoon’s death, including from the cast of Days of Our Lives.

“The Days of our Lives family is saddened by the news of Patrick’s untimely passing,” the long-running soap opera shared via Instagram. “As the original ‘Austin Reed,’ he left an indelible mark in Salem both personally and professionally. Our thoughts are with his loved ones, and he will be missed by all of us.”

“Pat was a rare kind of person – brilliantly talented, endlessly kind, and generous in spirit,” she wrote via X. “I was so lucky to have worked with him when I first started at Days, he made me feel at ease right away. He brought his unique charm and humor to work every day. A truly gifted guy, and one who will be profoundly missed.”

Their friendship would last more than 30 years and prove to be stronger than ever in the year before Muldoon’s death.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do without you here. You’re my voice of reason & pillar of strength,” she continued. “Especially during this last year of pain & heartache. And now I need you more than ever, for this pain and heartache losing you.”
