Among the amazing, impressive women was Theresa, a 70-year-old day trader. Gerry was instantly interested in Theresa, and she was a front-runner throughout the season.
It was little surprise when Gerry gave his final rose to Theresa, and the two were married just a few short weeks after the finale aired. The Golden Bachelor season 1 couple rode off into the sunset and hopes were high for the couple. Sadly, hopes were dashed when Gerry and Theresa announced their divorce just three short months after the lavish Golden Bachelor wedding. Since her divorce from Gerry, Theresa has leaned on her family for support. Long before being cast in The Golden Bachelor season 1, Theresa was married to the love of her life for 42 years. Theresa was only 14 years old when she met 15-year-old William Nist. The two were married when she was only 19 years old and had two children together. Sadly, William died in 2014, leaving Theresa on her own.
She leaned on her children, who she continued to be very close to.
Since the split, the star of The Golden Bachelor has been posting about her family a lot. Theresa spent the Fourth of July weekend in South Carolina with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandsons, and she posted photos on Instagram.
