The Big Bang Theory Creators Confirm New Spinoff Series

A presentation at Warner Bros. Discovery’s press day revealed that the new spin-off is currently in the works at HBO Max.

As Young Sheldon airs its seventh and final season, it was confirmed US network CBS had greenlit a spin-off centred on George Cooper (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment). However, no other details have been announced and both CMS and Warner Bros. TV declined to comment.

As fans wait for confirmation, there is another theory brewing about what the new show could be about.

Whilst many fans hoped the show would focus on one of the characters from the original show, such as Rajesh Koothrappali, it’s unlikely since many of the actors haven’t been keen to revisit their original roles and have not been open to becoming involved in any other series after their 12-year stint on the original show.

One popular theory is that the new show will focus on Paige, a recurring character in the Young Sheldon series.

Sporadically reappearing on the series, Paige is another child prodigy in Dr. John Strugis’ class. The last few seasons of the series has seen her rebel after her parents split up and has dropped out of college – a drastically different path to Sheldon.

Big Bang Theory aired for 12 seasons between 2007 and 2019, garnering just under 18 million viewers for its series finale.

The show featured a star-studded cast, including Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco, alongside Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Melissa Rauch, Mayim Bialik and Kevin Sussman.
