Actor Rocky Carroll, who has played Vance since 2008, revealed the decision to write out his character was not his own idea but part of a larger plan to create a powerful milestone moment.
According to Carroll, executive producer Steven D. Binder presented the storyline shortly before filming and explained that Vance would ultimately save the agency but lose his life in the process. Despite the surprise, Carroll quickly embraced the idea, calling it “a great story” that fans would never expect.
