“I want to tell you about my favorite scene but I’m probably not allowed- maybe ask me in October!” Armitage shared
Iain Armitage is reuniting with his Young Sheldon cast members to support the hit show’s upcoming spinoff!
On Thursday, July 25, Armitage posted a photo of himself on set of the upcoming series Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage. Alongside the image, he wrote a lengthy caption about the night and reuniting with former castmates.
“What an exciting honor to attend the first taping of Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage!!” he began. “It’s always fun to be on the Warner Brothers lot- I grew up there!-and then to get the chance to see so many familiar faces that I love! I got to see @thisisanniepotts @emilyosment @melissapeterman @montanajordan @raeganrevord @rachelbayjones @willsasso and so many more, including many crew members I’ve missed since we stopped filming Young Sheldon.”
“What a great evening and what a terrific show! I was so excited to be back and then I realized afterwards that I hardly took any pictures! Oops….never mind- you’ll get to see the show for yourself in October,” he continued. “I want to tell you about my favorite scene but I’m probably not allowed- maybe ask me in October!”
He added, “Congratulations to everyone involved! ❤️.”
Reagan Revord also posted from the taping, sharing a series of snaps from the night with various cast members, including Emily Osment, Annie Potts, Rachel Bay Jones and Montana Jordan.
“Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage first taping. Loved seeing so many of my YS family. ❤️,” she wrote.
Jordan and Osment will be reprising their Young Sheldon roles on Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage, which will chronicle Georgie (Jordan) and Mandy (Osment) as they raise their new baby in Texas “while navigating the challenges of adulthood, parenting and marriage.”
The spinoff was announced in March as Young Sheldon aired its series finale.
“GET READY!!!! The Cooper family continues,” Jordan wrote in an Instagram post. “Thank y’all for the support of Young Sheldon. I hope to deliver just what y’all are looking for in this new adventure!”
President of CBS Entertainment Amy Reisenbach described the new show, produced by Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro and Steve Holland as the continuation of a “wonderful journey.”
“It has been a privilege to spend the last seven years with Sheldon and the Cooper family and now this wonderful journey will continue with Georgie and Mandy,” she said. “Chuck and both Steves have done a masterful job developing these characters and entertaining generations of fans with relatable, heartwarming stories brought to life by Montana and Emily. We eagerly look forward to the next chapter in this beloved universe.”
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage premieres October 17 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. In the meantime, Young Sheldon can be streamed on Netflix and Max.
