Virgin River isn’t going anywhere just yet. Netflix officially renewed the beloved romantic drama for Season 8 in July 2025, even before Season 7 finished filming — making it the platform’s longest-running current original scripted English-language drama.
Season 7, released on March 12, 2026, continues Mel Monroe and Jack Sheridan’s journey as they begin building their life together after finally getting married in Season 6. Their story takes another emotional step forward when they adopt Marley’s baby following a complicated pregnancy storyline.
While the official plot for Season 8 hasn’t been announced, the next chapter is expected to explore Mel’s long-standing dream of motherhood and the couple’s transition into family life.
Most of the core cast — including Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Kai Bradbury, and Kandyse McClure — are expected to return. However, Marco Grazzini and Lauren Hammersley will not be back.
Filming is expected to begin in 2026, with a likely 2027 release window. 🌄
