When the “FBI Chief” gets entangled in a love affair: The truth about Sela Ward’s alleged infidelity md20

FBI night has remained the same at CBS for the past four years, but that could all change come fall 2025 when a fourth FBI show premieres and pushes another spinoff out.

Is FBI: International getting canceled?

While there hasn’t been any official news of FBI: International’s cancellation, Deadline speculates that CBS’ upcoming FBI spinoff — FBI: CIA — could lead to the network canceling one of its three existing FBI shows: FBIFBI: International, and FBI: Most Wanted. This is because primetime typically consists of a three-hour time block from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. And considering CBS’ branding of Tuesdays as FBI night, one show will have to go unless CBS moves the fourth FBI show to a different night, which seems unlikely.

Given that CBS recently renewed FBI three seasons through 2026/2027, FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted — which were given one-season pickups that are set to end in May 2025 — are the only two shows on the chopping block.

FBI lineup

Experts speculate that FBI: International is at the greatest risk of cancellation, however, because FBI, FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: CIA are all set and film in New York City, which would make for a more cohesive FBI night and allow for more crossovers between the three shows. FBI: International, on the other hand, is set in Europe and has filmed in many European cities including Budapest, Hungary; Pula, Croatia; Prague, Czech Republic; Oslo, Norway; and Tuscany, Italy.

CBS also is no stranger to greenlighting new spinoffs while canceling old ones. In April 2024, news broke that the network had canceled NCIS: Hawai’i after three seasons. The news came four months after CBS announced that an NCIS prequel, titled NCIS: Origins, was in the works. The cancellation also came amid news that the network was also working on another NCIS spinoff centered around Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, titled NCIS: Tony & Ziva.

Regardless of what happens to FBI: International, fans are worried about the future of the franchise. “I hope [FBI: CIA] doesn’t mean one of the FBI shows are cancelled especially FBI international. I like this season so far and it would sucks to see the show being over. Personally, I would be fine if Most Wanted was done after this season,” a user wrote on Reddit in November 2024.

Another user commented, “This is exactly my worry too because [FBI: International is] filmed overseas they might see it as expendable smh. I do not want to lose INT over this new spinoff when they dont even have room for it on a schedule. I can’t imagine them dumping this new series on a different night as they would more than likely would wanna keep Tuesdays as FBI night. This is eerily reminding me of how they axed NCIS: Hawaii in favor of NCIS:Origins…”
