Virgin River season 8 is officially happening, with Netflix renewing the hit drama before season 7 even premiered. The renewal makes it the platform’s longest-running original series to date.
While an exact release date hasn’t been confirmed, filming is expected to begin in April 2026 and wrap by August, suggesting a possible Spring 2027 premiere. The new season will reportedly include 10 episodes and feature a four-month time jump.
Most of the main cast will return, including Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, and Tim Matheson. However, Marco Grazzini and Lauren Hammersley are not expected to come back.
Season 8 will pick up from multiple cliffhangers, including the fate of Brady after his accident, the future of Mel and Jack, and a medical crisis involving Marley’s newborn baby.
