We also know a key member of the creative team is not coming back, as well as some expected returns.
FBI was renewed for three more seasons!
FBI was renewed back in April through Season 9 into the 2026-2027 seasons, giving the series three more years at CBS!
“The All-FBI Tuesday is a powerful force to be reckoned with on our primetime schedule,” Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement. “Dick Wolf and the talent in front of and behind the camera on all three series continue to deliver top-notch storytelling, riveting action and intrigue that has captivated a dedicated fanbase steadily across multiple seasons. We are excited to see what next season holds for all these heroic characters.”
FBI actors will appear in 2 less episodes in Season 7.
A report in May revealed that FBI actors will be appearing in less episodes for the next season as a way to save some money.
The new seasons will see the series regular stars taking their episode count guarantees reduced by two episodes.
FBI will be getting 22-episode seasons next season, and the actors will be guaranteed payment for 20 episodes, reportedly due to them being more expensive to film stateside, and having larger series regular casts.
Find out who is leaving…
Rick Eid, who has served as showrunner since the premiere, is stepping down from the role.
According to a report in April, Rick will remain an executive producer on the show. He is also the showrunner of Law & Order and he’ll remain at that show.
“After six years of running two, or more, shows, and CBS now picking up FBI for three more years, this was the perfect time for me to step back and focus my efforts on running Law & Order and developing new projects,” Rick said in a statement at the time.
“I’m extremely proud of FBI, and couldn’t be happier for the cast, crew and producers. While I will no longer be the day-to-day showrunner, I intend to remain involved with the show going forward.”
Producer Dick Wolf added: “Rick has been a core member of the Wolf family for two decades. We thank him for all the work he did on FBI to get the series launched and look forward to continuing our creative partnership on Law & Order and beyond.”
The series is bringing in Mike Weiss to fill the role, the co-creator and executive producer of Hulu’s Death and Other Details.
