If “effortlessly chic” were a person
If anyone in Hollywood embodies the brilliant chic, woke-up-like-this aesthetic, it’s Kristen Stewart.
Over the years, the Chanel darling has remained true to her tomboy style in the most authentic way, expertly applying the proverbial wisdom “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it” to her wardrobe choices. Whether she’s running errands or walking the red carpet, Stewart usually maintains her classic outfit formula: a great top and some great pants.
The Twilight star doesn’t do heavy makeup, but often opts for a romantic smoky eye and rosy touches. In contrast, her hair is always styled to appear just a little chaotic—a look she pulls off like no other.
She followed this formula to a T (no pun intended) this week, at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
On Saturday, Stewart participated in the premiere of her romantic thriller Love Lies Bleeding in a cropped white tank cut off at the sleeves, plus cherry-red trousers with a cream stripe on the sides, made to look like track pants. To finish the casual look, she added some worn-out white Adidas sneakers, a silver chain necklace, a silver ring, and a glossy black manicure. She wore a pink smoky eye accentuated with black liner, and a messy updo.
Later that day, the actor made an appearance at a Sundance after-party hosted by Ketel One at Star Bar. For the night out, she changed into a dull teal bomber jacket by Dickies, plus matching trousers, which she rolled up at the hems. She layered the jacket over the same white muscle tee she’d worn on the red carpet earlier in the day, and wrapped up the ensemble with black platform sneakers with long white socks. Stewart wore minimal, glowy makeup this time, and had her hair in a messy top bun with a side of bangs.
Of course, this was not the first time Stewart has shown us how far a classic tee can take you. Last year, she showed up to support Chanel at the house’s stunning Cruise 2023–24 runway show in Los Angeles, wearing a gray tweed Chanel suit with a subtle checkered pattern over—yes—a white T-shirt. She paired the suit with shiny black shoes, a wet-hair look, and glowy, natural makeup.
She also wore a simple tank and pants in October to a screening of Living for the Dead, the quirky ghost-hunter series she co-created for Hulu. Coordinating with fiancée Dylan Meyer, Stewart chose for a black muscle tee and matching cropped trousers. For footwear, she chose a dirty pair of white sneakers, which she wore with white ankle socks. The actor styled her hair in an Elvis Presley–esque ’do and had on a rosy smoky eye.
