Gordon Ramsay knows the restaurant business, that much is pretty clear.
He’s an authority on food, owning dozens of restaurants around the world and seven Michelin stars, and in his opinion there’s one dish people should never order when eating out.
This dish? The soup of the day.
In a resurfaced interview with city CountryRamsay said restaurants can often reuse old products and spice them up as a specialty.
Ramsay gave people some advice: “Ask what the soup of the day was yesterday before you choose the dish of the day. It may be the soup of the month.”
So here we go – Ramsay knows best.
In the same interview, he also said that he often asks waiters and waitresses at new restaurants for advice when ordering.
“It really depends on the restaurants, but the servers tend to try most of the dishes on the menu and can give you insight into what the chef has added or what the locals love,” he said.
“I got a lot of great recommendations from waiters along the way.”
It is the first time Ramsay has been in the news since he was mercilessly mocked online after sharing his father-in-law’s supposedly inspirational advice.
The celebrity chef was talking about raising money for his first apartment with his partner Tana when he asked her father Chris Hutcheson for a loan.
