Netflix has officially renewed Virgin River for season 8 following the emotional events of season 7.
The long-running romantic drama continues to grow in popularity and has now become the streamer’s longest-running live-action scripted series.
While there is no confirmed premiere date yet, production for the new season is expected to begin in April and finish in August. Based on previous seasons, that schedule points to a likely release in 2027.
Season 8 will also see some cast changes. Marco Grazzini and Lauren Hammersley will exit the series after their characters’ storylines concluded in the previous season.
The next chapter will open with a four-month time jump and will address several lingering questions from the season 7 finale, including Mel and Jack’s baby storyline and Brady’s fate after the crash.
