‘The Golden Bachelorette’ won’t premiere until September, but when it does, fans might see a familiar face. Mark Anderson, Kelsey Anderson’s dad is rumored to be appearing.
During season 28 of The Bachelor, fans didn’t just fall in love with Joey Graziadei; they also fell for contestant Kelsey Anderson’s dad. After Mark Anderson appeared in the series, fans quickly suggested the widower could be the next Golden Bachelor.
While we have yet to learn who will lead season 2 of the smash hit, rumor has it that Mark Anderson is already part of Bachelor Nation. Rumors are swirling that Anderson will appear as a contestant on The Golden Bachelorette, and it sounds like he won’t be making a quick exit.
According to ‘The Golden Bachelorette’ spoilers, Mark Anderson will be around for a while
Mark Anderson is reportedly a contestant on Joan Vassos’ inaugural season of The Golden Bachelorette. While he isn’t the first parent who would appear as a contestant, he apparently has substantially more staying power than Patty James, Matt James’ mom. Patty James appeared on The Golden Bachelor but made her exit during week one.
Reality Steve insists that Anderson isn’t a contestant who leaves early on in the show. According to the spoilers guru, Anderson was hanging around in the competition as recently as last week. Filming is slated to wrap up relatively soon, which means Anderson has likely made it through several rose ceremonies. Vassos is reportedly filming her hometown dates right now.
While Vassos has yet to be spotted in Louisiana with Mark Anderson, the Bachelor Nation expert feels confident that the father of The Bachelor winner will have a long tenure on the series. While little else is known about Joan’s The Golden Bachelorette season, spoilers suggest that it is plausible that Vassos ends up with Kelsey’s dad.
Could the pairing be doomed from the start, though?
While The Bachelor and The Golden Bachelor fans would love to see Joan Vassos and Mark Anderson together, the pairing might not be as perfect as many fans think it would be. Sure, Vassos and Anderson seem to have a fair bit in common. They were both widowed relatively young due to cancer. Anderson’s wife died in 2018 from breast cancer. Vassos’ husband died in 2021 from pancreatic cancer. They are both dedicated to their families, and both appear focused on remaining active in their children’s lives.
While Vassos and Anderson appear to have a lot in common, their common values might actually spell doom for them. Vassos has made it clear that she has no intention of leaving her kids behind in Maryland to chase love. We don’t yet know how Anderson feels about moving. Still, considering how close he is to his children, he’s likely not interested in leaving them behind, either. His daughter, Kelsey Anderson, and Joey Graziadei were planning to move to New York, which might make things easier. New York City isn’t terribly far from Vassos’ home base in Maryland.
If Vassos and Anderson can overcome the distance and the logistics of blending their families, they might be a great fit. We have already seen how difficult those things can be, though. Theresa Nist and Gerry Turner, the first golden couple, ended their marriage because they couldn’t agree on an optimal location to call home. Their family lives and their reluctance to move away from their kids was a massive factor in their decision to split.
