More than twenty years after its debut, NCIS continues to dominate network television. The procedural drama will soon reach a major milestone with the broadcast of its 500th episode.
The show’s longevity is partly due to its willingness to reinvent itself. As characters leave and new agents join the team, the series continually refreshes its dynamic while staying true to its core themes of teamwork and loyalty.
According to actor Gary Cole, the positive atmosphere on set plays a huge role in keeping the show running smoothly. “You cannot be in an environment like this and get the work done successfully unless there is love involved,” he said.
That spirit of collaboration has helped NCIS remain a fan favorite for more than two decades.
