Twilight Saga Reboot: 5 Actors Who Can Replace Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen in Live-Action TV Series

Right after the announcement of the Harry Potter series, the news of the Twilight Saga reboot broke the news. Like the Harry Potter franchise, Twilight Saga is also one of the most popular movie franchises grossing over $3.4 billion worldwide. Ever since the release of the first installment- Twilight on November 21, 2008, the franchise went on to attract more global audiences dominating the paranormal romance genre with unending romance and packed action throughout.

For many fans it is nearly impossible to imagine the replacement of the central characters- Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan, Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen, and Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black but a new series of dream casts has to be made. The show is yet to be developed but we can surely imagine five actors that could replace Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen.

1. Timothée Chalamet
There is a lot under Timothée Chalamet’s arms, ability to perform romance and action is his strong suit. He has one Oscar nomination for Best Lead Actor making him the third-youngest nominee ever for that category at the time. Chalamet is not just a “heartthrob” his charming look is perfect for Edward Cullen. In Lady Bird and Little Women, the Dune (2021) actor has proven that he can play romantic roles. Chalamet makes sure to keep his charm intact in every movie, we can see different versions of the actor in Beautiful Boy and The French Dispatch. For the role of Edward Cullen the creator of the Twilight Reboot could think of the 27-year-old just considering his performance in Call Me By Your Name and Dune.

2. Tom Holland
Best known for playing Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming and some other MCU films, the 26-year-old has pulled off the new generation chemistry of Peter Parker and Mary Jane with his co-star Zendaya.Carrying the legacy of the iconic MCU character, Tom Holland really nailed it bringing the glory of the character to light. Although he did not have many breaks from MCU to explore more versatile roles, he starred in Apple’s original film Cherry and also voiced in Disney’s Onward as the protagonist, Ian Lightfoot. The makers of Twilight Reboot may consider Holland for his immense popularity and charming quality.

3. Harry Styles
Former One Direction pop star Harry Styles could be the choice to play Edward Cullen. The British singer and actor have the charm and style meant for the character. Styles made his surprising debut in Hollywood’s one of the most prominent filmmakers Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk. Following his debut movie the 29-year-old actor has appeared in Don’t Worry Darling, My Policeman, and MCU’s Eternals. Styles has a knack for fashion. His social appearance never goes unnoticed. It would be pleasing to watch him in weary make-up and Twilight’s costume and romantically chasing the complex love of Bella Swan.

4. Ezra Miller
If an actor plays a major superhero character, it is safe to say he is known to all moviegoers. Ezra Miller plays DCU’s most prominent character and a member of the Justice League, Flash. Despite some controversies popping up to his name, he has maintained his legacy as an actor on screen. From The Perks of Being a Wallflower to Flash, he has explored many characters and proved his versatility. Unfortunately, Miller played Credence Barebone in the fantasy adventure franchise Fantastic Beasts making him a viable candidate for playing Edward Cullen.

5. Austin Butler
Austin Butler is in the buzz for his outstanding portrayal of Elvis Presley in the musical biopic Elvis. For the role, he received an Academy Award nomination and won a Golden Globe Award and a BAFTA. Since his debut in Aliens in the Attic in 2009, Butler has appeared in many films including The Bikeriders. The 31-year-old also appeared in many popular TV shows that include Zoey 101 and Hannah Montana. Certainly, Butler has the prowess to play Edward in the Twilight reboot if Twilight’s scheduling does not conflict with upcoming projects. Butler will appear in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune Part 2 and AppleTV+ limited series Masters of the Air which is produced by Tom Hanks.

More Updates to Come
It is too early to predict which actors will play the major characters in the series. The series is in its early development. Twilight Saga rights owner Lionsgate Studio is looking for writers and reports indicate that the author of the series Stephenie Meyer could join the development of the show. Presumably, the show will cast popular actors for the major characters giving the popularity of the Film Franchise. More reports of the development will reveal more about the highly anticipated show.
