If you love the cozy atmosphere of Virgin River, there’s another small-town series now available on Netflix UK that might deserve a spot on your watchlist.
The CW’s crime dramedy Good Cop/Bad Cop, starring Gossip Girl favorite Leighton Meester, quietly debuted on the platform this week, bringing its entire eight-episode season to new audiences.
The show originally aired last year but was unfortunately cancelled after only one season. Still, fans are hopeful the Netflix release might help revive interest in the series.
Meester plays Lou Hickman, a friendly but determined detective working in the small community of Eden Vale. She’s been handling cases on her own until she convinces her father, the town’s police chief Big Hank (Clancy Brown), to expand the team.
Her personal life quickly becomes complicated when her estranged brother Henry (Luke Cook) unexpectedly returns and joins the department, while another detective, Shane Carson (Devon Terrell), sparks romantic tension.
With its blend of humor, mystery, and small-town charm, the show has become a pleasant surprise for viewers who enjoy lighter crime series.
