As soon as it hits 60 degrees, the pants come off.
Just hours after Kristen Stewart appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in a sheer bedazzled halter top, the actress stepped out again in an equally bold look. On Tuesday, Stewart was photographed heading out to do more promotion for her film Love Lies Bleeding in a spring-ready take on the trend that has taken over red carpets and runways: underwear and stockings.
Stewart wore a beige-colored Brunello Cucinelli look consisting of a cropped button-up and matching knit underwear with brown piping on the waist and leg holes that she layered over sheer flesh-colored tights. The shirt was only partially buttoned to reveal a tan Victoria’s Secret bra, and she finished off the look with chocolate-colored suede pumps. She accessorized with a quilted black Chanel handbag, a smattering of rings, and octagonal-shaped wire sunglasses. The star’s shag haircut was styled in a deep part with a wet-looking effect.
Yesterday, the Twilight alum stopped by Colbert’s show to promote her new film — which had a limited release on March 8 and will have an expanded debut on March 15. During the interview, Stewart addressed her controversial jockstrap-clad Rolling Stone cover and called critics “sexist and homophobic.”
“Well, okay, let’s keep this light,” she responded when Colbert asked about the public’s reception. “You know, I think it’s a little um … well, it’s a little ironic because I feel like I’ve seen, like, a lot of male pubic hair on the cover of things.”
“I’ve seen, like, a lot of hands in pants and like, unbuttoned … I think there’s a certain overt acknowledgment of a female sexuality that has its own volition in a way that is annoying for people who are sexist and homophobic,” she continued. “…Female sexuality isn’t supposed to actually want anything but to be had. And that feels like it’s protruding in a way that might be annoying.”
