It’s Not Over Yet: NCIS: LA Is Back in Action md14

CBS Studios is strengthening its creative bench with a new overall deal for David J. North.

North, who co-created and currently showruns “NCIS: Origins,” will continue steering the series into its third season under the agreement. The prequel is midway through Season 2, though co-creator Gina Lucita Monreal will step down at the season’s conclusion.

The deal positions North to create, develop, and produce projects for both CBS’s broadcast slate and its streaming platforms, signaling the studio’s confidence in his leadership.

North’s history with the “NCIS” brand stretches back to its earliest days. Beginning as support staff on the flagship series, he rose to become a writer and producer before working on titles such as “Rizzoli & Isles,” “Scorpion,” and “NCIS: Los Angeles.” He later returned to “NCIS” as executive producer and co-showrunner through Season 21 before launching “NCIS: Origins.”
