Kaley Cuoco has shared a surprising behind-the-scenes story involving her fiancé Tom Pelphrey — and it turns out he’s never watched The Big Bang Theory.
Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, Cuoco revealed that Pelphrey had no real knowledge of the hit sitcom when they first met, despite the show running for 12 seasons and making her a global star as Penny.
The moment became especially awkward when Cuoco met Pelphrey’s family. His mother’s partner repeatedly called her “Penny,” leaving Pelphrey puzzled. He later apologized after realizing Penny was the name of Cuoco’s iconic character, not a mix-up.
Even after learning the truth, Pelphrey still hasn’t seen the show.
Cuoco is now starring in the mystery series Vanished, portraying a woman whose partner disappears during a Paris trip. She admitted that filming was challenging, particularly scenes shot on a real train that triggered her claustrophobia.
The couple met in 2022, got engaged two years later, and share a young daughter. Cuoco has also revealed that sleeping in separate bedrooms suits their busy schedules and works well for their family life.
