Kaley Cuoco’s fiancé, Tom Pelphrey, has revealed a surprising truth about the sitcom that made her a household name — he has never watched The Big Bang Theory.
The actress, who portrayed Penny for 12 seasons, shared the revelation during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show. Cuoco explained that when she and Pelphrey first met, he had little knowledge of the globally popular series.
An awkward but humorous moment later unfolded when Cuoco met Pelphrey’s family. His mother’s partner repeatedly referred to her as “Penny,” leaving Tom confused. He later apologized after learning Penny was the character Cuoco played on the show.
Despite the series’ massive success, Cuoco confirmed that Pelphrey still hasn’t watched it.
Cuoco is currently starring in the mystery drama Vanished, in which she plays a woman whose partner disappears during a trip to Paris. She noted that filming was particularly challenging due to scenes shot on a real train, which triggered her claustrophobia.
The couple met in 2022, became engaged in 2024, and share a young daughter. Cuoco has also shared that they sleep in separate bedrooms due to different schedules — an arrangement she says works perfectly for their family.
