While the pairing of Captain Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) and paramedic Sylvie Brett (Kara Kilmer) was one of the more divisive relationships on “Chicago Fire,” the pair quickly became become a new fan-favorite character. A steamy moment for Brettsey earlier in the season caught viewers’ attention, and it looks like things are only getting better for the blossoming romance.
However, not long ago, this couple couldn’t be further apart. Casey, who has been a main character on the space series “One Chicago” since its premiere in 2012, has been a part of two serious relationships on the show. He first partnered with Dr. Hallie Thomas (Teri Reeves), to whom he was briefly engaged, and then with Gabby Dawson (Monica Raymund), to whom he was briefly married.
Brett, on the other hand, was on for a few seasons and engaged in a few casual relationships before settling down and getting engaged to Chaplain Kyle Sheffield (Teddy Sears), a relationship that ended in Season 8 .After spending most of Season 9 under some kind of will, right, the two finally connected and Season 10 seemingly brought them together forever.
As the couple enjoyed a relatively comfortable honeymoon, fans took notice and wished the young couple the best. Here’s a recent Brettsey scene from “Chicago Fire” season 10 Episode “The Right Thing” that fans couldn’t help but share their appreciation for.
Fans feel Brett and Casey are moving towards a stable family relationship
In a recent Brettsey moment, “Chicago Fire” opens on the happy couple as they prepare for their day, just as the show did a few episodes earlier in “Head Count.” Viewers see Brett wearing earrings, while Casey wears a coat, eager to return home so she can pack for her trip to Oregon. However, Brett said it seemed odd that Casey didn’t keep more of his stuff at her place, considering how much time they spent together. After clearing out a few drawers for him to use, Casey said, “That’s enough… for now,” before the two said goodbye and kissed.
Fans can’t get enough of their steadily progressing relationship. @Learnthingss wrote, “Starting again with Brettsey?? I mean cmon,” followed by a series of crying and heart emojis that clearly expressed their positive feelings.
In response, @IamLindaL noted: “They’re starting all the episodes with #Brettsey because they’re awesome!”
Other fans felt that the invitation was a harbinger of real progress in the relationship. Twitter user @hamburgerheroes commented: “Oh my God, he’d really marry her tomorrow if she asked, wouldn’t he?”
Of course, there’s more going on in “The Right Thing” than just another adorable moment between Brettsey, like the wayward family Casey visits in Oregon, which makes him wonder if he’s need to get closer together to help them stay together or not. Fans are worried that those events could have consequences, such as @BrettseyDaily, who feels that the couple may have to spend some time apart — but hopes that the long-distance relationship will be just that temporary.
